Helen and Clytemnestra live the domestic goddess dream in myth made modern.
An ox stand on my tongue asks what if the infamous femme fatale and vilified husband murderer had actually once believed in an idealised domestic dream? What compelled them to justify – or to suppress – the experiences they had endured.
This is a play about two women who try – who really do try – to be well behaved, to be the perfect housewife, but who just happen to end up becoming the world’s most notorious adulterer and Husband killing Matricide.

Abbie-Lee Lewis
Abbie-Lee Lewis is a Kalkadoon actress who trained on the Aboriginal Theatre and Acting courses at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Perth.
Her credits include Seanna Van Helten’s Fallen, directed by Penny Harpham, for Sport for Jove; Our Town, directed by Clare Watson, for the Black Swan State Theatre Company of Western Australia; a national tour of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (as Hermia) for Bell Shakespeare; and Angus Cerini’s The Bleeding Tree, directed by Ian Michael at the Blue Room Theatre, Perth. Her television credits include Black Comedy for ABC. In recent years she has also worked as an assistant director, collaborating with Peter Evans on Hamlet for Bell Shakespeare and with Jena Prince on Charlie Pilgrim for the Australian Theatre for Young People.
This year she has joined the team at Belvoir as the Andrew Cameron Fellow and will make her directing debut with Bruce Pascoe’s Cutter and Coot for the Moogahlin Performing Arts, NSW.

Zac Saric
Zac Saric is a Sydney-based Sound Designer and Composer. A graduate of NIDA’s BFA in Technical Theatre and Stage Management, Zac works with sound in a variety of forms and mediums, including theatre, musical theatre, podcasting and post-production film and TV.
Coming from a background in music, Zac quickly found a talent for composing for the stage and is continually expanding his skillset using new technologies while developing works with other artists. Zac also works as a freelance audio engineer, working across theatre, musicals and live events.
