Devising is the creation of theatrical work from scratch. It involves tapping into our creative brains and sparking ideas over and over again, distilling what to keep and what to let go of. Then there is the challenge of moulding these concepts into a structure that is entertaining and effective. In this workshop students will have the opportunity to explore devising work from visual, factual, physical and musical inspirations. Through exercises they learn the tools to devise their own work and have the opportunity to create their own piece in groups which we critique together and learn from.

Times: Workshops run for 2 hours and can be scheduled for a time of your choosing, depending on artist availability.

Cost: Workshops cost $350 for up to 30 students in Sydney, for workshops in regional locations check out our Regional Programs.

It gave us an idea of a process to help get our creativity to flow and gave us several ideas we can explore.

This workshop helped me to learn to focus more and to work better in a group which will help me for year 12. I thought the two hours was too short.
