Group Devising

Students explore how to transform a dramatic text into a theatrical production – from selecting a text and working with a design team to auditioning actors and managing rehearsals.

Stage Management

Students learn what it takes to work behind the scenes – running the rehearsal room, cueing the lights, and organising the actors.

Set Design

Students learn how to tackle a director’s brief and translate their ideas into a sketch model box.

Costume Design

Students explore effective costume design, the role of costume in the overall production, and the tools available to a costume designer – including line, colour and texture.

Brecht & Political Theatre

Students are introduced to Brecht’s techniques and influence – devising their own piece of political theatre and exploring connections between Brecht’s theories and modern theatrical processes.
