Hamed Sadeghi’s (Sami in Paradise, Stop Girl) Eishan Ensemble and guest vocalist Dharawal woman Sonya Holowell’s collaboration Afternoon Tea at Six, is a richly flavoured musical fusion blending traditional Persian Classical with Western Jazz, improvisation and Holowell’s spine-tingling vocals.

Afternoon Tea at Six tells seven stories. “We drank a cup of Persian black tea before every rehearsal,” says tar [Iranian lute] player and composer Hamed Sadeghi, “and tried to narrate the stories with a different texture.”

Come for (late) afternoon tea and immerse yourself in the heady atmosphere of Sadeghi’s fusion style, as the Eishan Ensemble and Sonya Holowell recreate stories of our time and celebrate the finding of identity.
