For Box Office hours visit our Contact Us page.
We’re committed to providing everyone who visits our theatre with the same experience regardless of age or ability. The theatre has lift access and Hearing Assistance Service (HAS). With advanced notice we can accommodate a range of individual needs. We strongly encourage patrons to notify staff of individual needs at the time of booking. For more information, please visit our accessibility page.
Occasionally some of our productions contain strong language, nudity, violence, smoking, strobe lighting, haze or other content you may want to know about before you attend. We put up warning signs in the foyer, as well as ensuring this information is passed on to ticketholders via a pre-show email (be sure to check your inbox) and uploaded onto the website in advance of the show. If you have any concerns, please check with Box
Office staff.
Approximate running times of each production are uploaded to the production page as soon as that information becomes available. During the rehearsal period running times are liable to change.
Previews – Every production at Belvoir has 1 – 4 previews before opening night. Previews are your chance to get in ahead of everyone else and experience a show first. These performances are cheaper than the rest of the season as the team continue to hone the show ahead of opening night. Your reactions and feedback can help chart the course of the overall production. So, if you’re a generous audience member and up for a bit of fluttering nerves and the occasional blip (and let’s face it, this is what makes live theatre exciting), these performances are for you.
Opening Nights – Opening Nights are by invitation only and are not available as part of your season tickets.
Sometimes the design of shows changes throughout the year, and so too might the seating formation. Ticket buyers and group contact points will be notified of any changes.
Belvoir organises Unwaged performances for a selection of our Upstairs productions each season. We invite unwaged members of the community to attend a free-of-charge matinee performance. Tickets for these performances can be claimed on the day on presentation of an eligible Pensioner Card, Health Care Card, Veterans’ Affairs Card or MEAA membership along with photo ID.
Belvoir’s Unwaged Performance program is supported by the James N. Kirby Foundation.
General release tickets go on sale throughout the year as the play approaches. On-sale dates can be found on individual production pages on our website and we promote the dates that these tickets go on sale via email and social media.
Season ticket buyers can also purchase additional tickets for friends and family at Mate’s Rates once you’ve booked a season ticket.
Use the form at the very bottom of this page to sign up to our enews. Follow Belvoir on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Youtube.
A season ticket is a package that, in 2025, consists of between 4 to 9 Upstairs plays and gives you access to a whole range of Belvoir benefits. 4-play packs start at just $190.
If you are booking your season tickets online, make sure to book tickets in the same order to ensure you are seated with everyone in your group. Alternatively, you can book your tickets at the same time on your mobile devices and select seats next to each other. If you are booking via a paper form, send in all your forms together. If this is not possible, leave us a clear instruction on the form. Make sure to include all the basic information about your friend (e.g. Full name, Contact number, Email address, etc.) so we can locate them easily. However, we cannot guarantee you’ll be seated with other people in your group if the forms arrive separately.
Our online season ticket booking will allow up to 10 people to book together. However, you can book with as many people as you like. If you are booking with more than 10 people online, make a separate booking and let us know that you are in the same group. If you are sending us paper forms, send everyone’s forms together regardless of the number. If your group is too large to fit onto the booking form you can download an extra sheet just for your co-season ticket holders!
A Primary Season Ticket Holder is the person we contact to discuss all season ticket booking related matters and whose name the season tickets will be booked under. However, with sensitive payment issues, we will contact the individual person. Companions refer to other season ticket holders in the group. They are fully-fledged season ticket holders and receive all the same benefits. There is no difference in benefits other than the Primary Subscriber being the primary contact of the group.
Yes, you can ensure you’re seated with friends who aren’t season ticket holders by purchasing “additional tickets” at the time of booking your season tickets – at a discounted price. However, if your friend purchases their tickets separately throughout the year, this cannot be guaranteed.
Yes you do. Seats are secured and tickets are booked when you purchase your season tickets. This ensures you receive the best seats possible. If you do not have specific dates in mind, you can just choose your preferred day of the week (e.g. any Saturday at 2pm) and we’ll choose the dates and give you the best available seats. You are free to change them if you need to. See the next question.
By booking a season ticket you become eligible for one free exchange per production. If you do need to exchange more than once, you will enjoy 50% off exchange fees. If you are a Treasured subscriber (you’ve subscribed consecutively for 10+ years), all your exchanges are complimentary. So you can easily change your dates if they become unsuitable, subject to availability. However, if you change your ticket to a more expensive seat you are still liable to pay the difference in ticket price.
Click here to complete our online ticket exchange form. (Please note: We cannot guarantee exchanges within 24 hours of the performance. Belvoir must receive exchange requests at least 24 hours prior to the booked performance, and a $6 late exchange fee will be charged for requests within this window.)
Yes. If you cannot make the show, you can pass your ticket on to a friend or family member. However, if you purchased concession tickets, and the person taking the ticket is not eligible for the same discount, they will need to come to the box office to upgrade the ticket. Downgrade is not offered.
Generally, the first one to four dates of each show’s season are Preview performances that you are welcome to book into. Opening Nights are always by invitation only and cannot be booked as part of your season ticket package. Find Preview performance dates by checking the relevant production page.
Yes, you can select your own seats. If booking with a paper form, please understand that seats are secured in the order of receipt. We always do our utmost to give our patrons the very best seats available. If you have special seating requirements due to access issues and/or disability, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Yes please. You’ll be given an opportunity to address accessibility requirements when booking online. If you’re booking via a paper form, please attach a note to your booking form. We’ll do all that we can to accommodate you. More information on accessibility can be found here.
We offer concession prices to Pensioners, Seniors, full-time students, Medicare Low Income Health Care Cards, Seniors Health Care Cards and Under 30s (30 and under). The appropriate ID or Australian concession card must be provided in order for your subscription to be processed. If booking online, please send through proof of ID via the link provided in your confirmation email. If booking via a paper form, please enclose a copy of your concession.
