Chance encounters. Hidden desires. Romance under occupation. And unbridled joy as an unstoppable protest. The Party There is a series of intertwined vignettes taking us through the intersection of pride, protest and Palestinian resistance. It is a collage of rebellion and love and freedom and fury, from Gadigal to Gaza.

Lovers under occupation navigating heartache and blockades. Protesters outside a police station continuing the decades-long fight for queer liberation. A confession of love lost under the rubble. Family histories discovered on the dancefloor. A secret rave behind boarded-up windows, as young queer people dance through the night knowing they might not make it to morning.

A kaleidoscopic look at what it is to embody ecstasy and beauty as the ultimate resistance; it’s a reminder of just how small and intertwined our worlds have become. The fight echoes across borders and hemispheres – and the party here is the party there.

The team of The Party There wishes to acknowledge the land where the work will be created and presented, Gadigal land. And the land from which some of the stories of the piece emerge, Palestine.

WHAT IS 25A? 25A is a Belvoir initiative to support the artists of the future. It has been made by independent and emerging artists. They have produced and marketed it themselves. They get 100% of the box office and the theatre for free. Their task is to make a show for less than $2500. Thanks for supporting the artists of the future.

25A Tickets

Tickets to 25A productions are $25 or $35 and Previews are $20 or $30. 100% of the ticket sales goes to the independent artists that made this show, and they split the profits evenly between each other. Tickets are available online and at the door.
