Tara Morice

Tara is a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). She is soon to appear in Belvoir’s co-production of Dance Nation with State Theatre Company South Australia. On stage she has performed in Once In Royal David’s City, The Laramie Project (Belvoir), 1841 (State Theatre Company South Australia / STC) A Cheery Soul, Harp in the South, Morning Sacrifice, Love for Love, Rome Tremble (STC) Haircut, Strictly Ballroom, Angels (Baz Luhrmann’s Six Years Old Company), Secret Bridesmaids’ Business (Malthouse / STC), Good Cook. Friendly. Clean., Wolf Lullaby, The Moonwalkers, After Dinner, (Griffin Theatre Company), The Merchant Of Venice, Richard The Third, Hamlet (Bell Shakespeare Company) Good People, Animals Out Of Paper, Abigail’s Party, Sweet Road, Spinning Into Butter, Mongrels (Ensemble Theatre) and was nominated for a Victorian Green Room Award for The Venetian Twins and a Helpmann Award for Fat Swan. On film she has appeared in Strictly Ballroom, Hotel Sorrento, Metalskin, Moulin Rouge, Hildegarde, Razzle Dazzle: A Journey Into Dance, Candy, Oranges and Sunshine, Dance Academy: The Movie, Reaching Distance, Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway and the Oscar nominated short Miracle Fish. Tara was nominated for a BAFTA and AFI for Strictly Ballroom. Her television credits include Dance Academy, Answered By Fire, McLeod’s Daughters, Salem’s Lot, After The Deluge, Grass Roots, Loot, My Husband My Killer, Dogwoman, A Difficult Woman, Water Rats, Winter and Play School. Tara also directed the documentary My Biggest Fan for SBS, recorded Time After Time for the Strictly Ballroom soundtrack and has narrated documentaries for the ABC, SBS and National Geographic.
