HSC Revision: Exploring Neighbourhood Watch

Digital Workshop

Suitable for students studying for the HSC Drama written exam in Term 4, ages 16 – 18 years old who are looking for a practical and collaborative way to revise the content during the school holidays..

Explore the principles of directing and how they can be used to deep dive into Neighbourhood Watch by Lally Katz.

In this workshop you will use skills and techniques of a professional director to work with the script, interpret character objectives and motivations and gain a greater understanding of the play.

HSC Students (Year 12, 2021)

Please note this workshop will not tell you how to write your essay responses, please consult your classroom teacher for specific exam advice.

Log in details are sent to participants on the day of the workshop

TO PREPARE: Participants will need:

  • printed Script excerpts (sent prior to the session)
  • a clear, flat space on which to do writing or drawing activities during the workshop
  • a notebook (or a blank document ready to use on your computer)
  • a pen or pencil
  • clear space to move around in-view of camera
  • Loose, comfortable clothing e.g. active wear
  • bottle/glass of water

SET UP: Participants should:

  • make sure you have a comfortable seat and a flat surface to write or draw on
  • use your real name on the Zoom platform, not a nick name
  • keep microphones on mute until it is your turn to contribute
  • be set up in a quiet place where you will not be interrupted and other people will not appear in frame during the workshop
  • have all materials ready in their workspace when the workshop commences
  • leave meeting at the end of the workshop
  • printed materials (these will be emailed to you after you have booked you place)
