Paul Charlier

Paul’s compositions for Belvoir include The Dance of Death, Faith Healer, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Buried Child, Aftershocks and the first-time-’round productions of Suddenly Last Summer, The Seagull and The Blind Giant is Dancing; his sound designs include Diary of a Madman, Hamlet and Waiting for Godot. He was composer and/or sound designer for Griffin’s Prima Facie, the National Theatre’s Afterlife (UK), Out of Joint’s Dreams of Violence (UK), the Broadway production of Deuce, DV8’s The Cost of Living, Honour Bound (Sydney Opera House / Malthouse), Already Elsewhere (Force Majeure), Cyrano, Uncle Vanya, Tot Mom, A Streetcar Named Desire, Victory and Copenhagen (Sydney Theatre Company). Paul was composer for the feature films The Final Quarter, Candy, Last Ride, Suzy & the Simple Man and Aftershocks, sound designer for Looking for Alibrandi and The Projectionist, sound designer and music mixer for Paul Kelly – Stories of Me, and music supervisor for Holding the Man. For ABC Radio Paul wrote and produced A Plan For Eurydice and The Touring Machine (with MoCA, L.A.). In 2017 he co-directed the poly-media surveillance work Wireless and in 2018 was shortlisted for the BBC International Radio Playwriting Competition.
