Belvoir’s Helpmann Award-winning production The Wild Duck opened to a standing ovation in Oslo on Monday night local time. The production was selected as part of The International Ibsen Festival hosted each year by Norway’s National Theatret.

The stage manager reported that there was a ‘truly fascinating response at the curtain call that went from sort of polite, subdued clapping and then as the bows continued into a total rhythmic clap and then by the third bow an entire standing ovation… The post show buzz was off the charts!’
Tuesday night’s performance was met with an immediate standing ovation and chats of ‘Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi! Oi! Oi!’
