We were thrilled to see Sam’s name among the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honour List. She was awarded her AO “For distinguished service to the community through philanthropic support for arts programs and cultural institutions, and to a range of charitable organisations.”
Sam’s unwavering dedication, passion and tenacity to ensuring that Australia’s cultural landscape is nurtured and that our artists can flourish in their chosen field is unparalleled. Belvoir is fortunate to be one of the many beneficiaries of Sam’s generosity both personally and through the Nelson Meers Foundation.
Belvoir’s Executive Director Sue Donnelly said, “Sam is a wonderful advocate for the arts in Australia and this award is long overdue. Her work as the Chair of the Belvoir Board, along with her tireless work as a philanthropist is an inspiration to us all. I’m delighted for Sam, and the whole Belvoir family congratulates her on this well-deserved honour.”
