If arcade games, gin punch and sweet seventies tunes sounds like your idea of a good time, swing on by Belvoir’s Downstairs theatre, which has been converted into the basement of the Girl Asleep family home.
It’s a gamer’s paradise with a selection of retro and rare pinball machines, an original Nintendo games console, good old fashioned board games (Connect4 anyone?) and a seriously groovy aesthetic baby. There’s also a pop-up bar serving Poor Toms gin punch, Coopers beer, spiders, and other sweet treats direct from your childhood (Curly Wurlys are our favourite).
The arcade is a fundraiser for Belvoir’s Arts Access Program, which allows students from low socio-economic backgrounds to attend shows for free. $10 grants you unlimited play time for the entire evening.
The pinball arcade will be open for the duration of the Girl Asleep run (December 2-24).
Tue to Fri
Please note on Christmas Eve the Bumper Bar will be open from 1.30pm to 4pm.
