Belvoir offers a series of weekend workshops specifically designed to improve your communication and presentation skills. Whether it’s expressing your ideas at a work or social occasion, or making your interactions with people more authentic, this workshop series will focus on developing simple techniques used by actors to give you more confidence and ease when speaking in public.

We recognise that participants bring different levels of experience, so we draw out what is already natural and authentic in your speaking/presentation style. We enhance this through greater self-awareness and presence. We focus on breath, voice and physical ease to generate presence that can hold a room, or transform a conversation.

Stage 1 is for all levels from beginners to intermediate. In a supportive, fun environment led by one our facilitators, you will explore the critical building blocks of presence, language and delivery.

Participant feedback:

… full of wonderful insights about enhancing physical and vocal presence. Being in the Belvoir theatre and rehearsal space also seemed to give us permission to experiment and take risks.

I really loved the workshops and found aspects of them challenging, which i didn’t expect but also really loved because this is a necessary part of learning.

The Physical Presence practices align with my yoga practice so I will continue with posture and breathing work. The Vocal Presence practices were a revelation, freeing the face, throat and lungs. I’ll commit to regularly practising the articulation workout.

It was great to have it spread over three weeks so you had time to practice and observe the things learnt.
