Dalara graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 2017. She is soon to appear in Belvoir’s Winyanboga Yurringa in the role of Margie. Whilst at NIDA her stage credits included Realism, Love and Money (dir. Judy Davis), The Season at Sasparilla, and Twelfth Night. Prior to NIDA, Dalara studied Aboriginal Theatre at Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, performing in Crowbones and Carnivores. She also performed as Goneril in The Shadow Kind, a reworking of King Lear as part of Darwin Festival. Her professional acting debut was starring in the nationally touring Tiwi adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves; Wulamanayuwi and the Seven Pamaui (dir. Eamon Flack). Recently she appeared in Blackie Blackie Brown for STC and Malthouse. Her film credits include Wayne Blair’s Top End Wedding, premiering at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, and Victoria Wharfe McIntyre’s forthcoming film, The Flood. Recent television credits include Get Krack!n and Black Comedy S3 for the ABC, which went on to win the 2018 Casting Guild of Australia Award for Best Casting in a TV Comedy. Dalara was awarded the Hazel Treweek Shakespeare Award during her time at NIDA.
