Ahilan Karunaharan

Ahilan is a graduate of Victoria University and Toi Whakaari, NZ School of Drama. Ahi has worked as an actor, writer and director, across New Zealand. Upon graduation, Ahi travelled to the UK and worked with the internationally acclaimed theatre company Tara Arts, collaborating and performing with various artists from Germany, Australia, Norway, Canada and India.
He will be appearing in Belvoir’s 2019 production of Counting and Cracking. Other theatrical highlights include The Not All India Radio Show for The Untouchables Collective, The New Zealand International Comedy Festival and Fun Shy for the NZ Fringe Festival, Yukio Mishima’s Madame Du Sade for The Seeyd Space, Awhi Tapu for Centrepoint Theatre, The Night Mechanics for Tawata Productions, Public Service Announcements for BATS Theatre and the critically acclaimed solo work The Mourning After at Circa Theatre. Screen work includes Avatar, Debts We Pay, Bad Trip, Blank Slate, Anchorite and presenting for Asia Down Under and Neighbourhood for Television One.
